A 46-year-old woman was robbed as she walked along an alleyway that leads from a golf course.

Kent Police say a man approached the victim from behind, grabbing her and wrenching a carrier bag from her hands at West Cliff, Whitstable.

The bag split and the robber grabbed a purse and ran off towards a nearby railway line.

The offender is described as a white man aged about 20. He was wearing a dark jacket and square glasses. The incident happened at around 4pm on Friday
