An elderly woman has been robbed as she unpacked her shopping outside her home.
The 78-year-old was pushed her to the ground and had her handbag stolen in Bockhanger Lane, Kennington at 1.30pm on Thursday.
She was unloading shopping bags from her car, which was parked in her drive, when the robbery happened.
Ashford police spokeswoman Rosy Alexander said: “She heard running steps behind her and was then pushed to the ground and her handbag, containing a quantity of cash, was pulled from her arm and then the offender ran off.”
The attack left the woman with a bruised face and a grazed hand.
The robber is a dark skinned, stocky, 6ft tall man in his mid 40s, who was wearing a blue hooded anorak.
Det Insp Angie Hobbs said: “This was a cowardly robbery on an elderly and vulnerable lady who luckily was not badly injured, although shocked.”
“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a suspicious man in the vicinity during the time frame of the incident, or has information that will help the investigation.”
