THE Tonbridge Road at Wateringbury, near Maidstone, was closed for nearly fours hours after a road accident.

The emergency services were called to a collision between a Ford Focus and a Ford transit van at the junction with Pizien Well Road at around 3pm on Monday.

A woman driving the Focus had to be freed from her car by firefighters but neither she nor her three-year-old son were seriously injured. The road was closed until around 6.50pm.
