Women attacked with knife and hammer

A MASKED intruder who broke into a home stabbed one of the occupants and attacked another with a hammer.

The burglar woke up the two women when he broke into the property in the Manor Lane area of Borstal, near Rochester, at about 4.30am on Saturday. He threatened both with a knife and ended up stabbing one of them.

The second occupant tried to shout for help and the intruder hit her around the head with a hammer before fleeing.

The victims, both in their 40s, were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment. Both are now recovering at home.

Police are looking for a man described as about 6ft tall with a slim to medium build. He was wearing dark trousers and trainers and a hooded waterproof waist-length jacket, which was shiny and light olive green in colour.
