Wrap up well is the advice from health chiefs in the current cold snap.
With temperatures struggling to get above freezing in the day, NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent warns that children and older people are especially vulnerable.
They are being urged to keep their heating on at home and wrap up warm if they go out.
Cold weather can bring on serious health problems like heart attacks, stroke or pneumonia among older people.

The Primary Care Trust’s medical director Dr Robert Stewart said: “People should aim to keep their main rooms heated to 21C (70F) while bedrooms should be kept above 18C.
“When you do go out, a good hat, scarf and gloves will help you stay warm. Regular hot meals and drinks throughout the day are also recommended.
“If you have older family, friends or neighbours nearby, try to pay them a visit to make sure they have everything they need.”
If you feel unwell, advice is available 24 hours a day from NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or from your local pharmacist.
For more serious illnesses, contact your GP. Minor injuries units can be an easier alternative to visiting a hospital A&E unit.
If someone appears to be seriously ill, injured or unconscious, dial 999 and ask for the ambulance service.
