Yacht in rescue drama

Three men were trapped on board a 21ft yacht when it ran aground.

The trio, thought to be in their mid-20s, had to be rescued by the Sheerness lifeboat on Saturday afternoon.

Medway Coastguard received an initial call about a boat stuck in mud near Hoo Marina at 1.30pm.

They co-ordinated the rescue and, once the three men were brought to Gillingham Marina, called an ambulance after one man complained of cold.

The three men were given blankets to warm them up but did not need to go to hospital and instead were returned home.
