A YACHTSMAN suffered a heart attack and died off the coast of Sheppey on Saturday evening.
The Sheerness offshore lifeboat crew was called to the Brehon yacht shortly before 6pm following reports from another seaman that the crewman had suffered a heart attack.
They tried to resuscitate the man with help from the rescue crew from a helicopter from RAF Watersham.
The man, in his 60s, was brought ashore to Sheerness but was declared dead by ambulance paramedics.
The man was a member of the Upnor Yacht Club in Rochester.
