A weather warning for heavy snow and ice has been issued for Kent which is expected to cause some disruption over the weekend.
The yellow alert has been put in place from midday on Saturday (January 4) until Sunday (January 5) night.
The Met Office has warned the weather could cause some disruption with there being a chance of power cuts and travel delays on roads, rail and air services.
It has also said there is a slight chance some rural communities could become cut off by the snowfall.
It is forecasted that outbreaks of rain spreading northeastwards will likely be followed by a spell of snow, however, in the south of the country, any snow is expected to be short-lived.

Although the weather warning covers Kent, parts of the Midlands, Wales and northern England are the most at risk of disruption as 5cm or more of snow could settle fairly widely and as much as 20-30cm on higher ground.
There is also a risk of ice as milder air moves northwards causing the snow to turn to freezing rain which could lead to some treacherous conditions in places.
There is a fair bit of uncertainty as to how far any snow will spread and how long it will last so the Met Office has said the alert could change in the coming days.
It comes as the county is hit by “very strong winds” of up to 75mph yesterday (January 1).
The warning for wind was in place until 3pm.
