A yellow weather warning is in place for heavy rain across the whole of Kent today.
The alert was issued by the Met Office on Saturday and is in place until midnight, with heavy rain and flooding expected.
Some locations could see 80-100mm of water develop throughout the day with the warning spreading across large parts of the country.
The Met Office warned that some communities may be cut off by flooded roads, while spray could create difficult driving conditions for commuters.
There is a possibility of power cuts and loss of other services to homes and businesses.
The weather warning is in place for a large portion of England and Wales.
Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are also likely.
A reduced service is currently in place from Tunbridge Wells to Hastings as a result of flooding in Wadhurst.
People are being advised to check if their property could be at risk and consider preparing a plan and an emergency flood kit, to check road conditions if driving, and to gather torches, battery packs and other essentials in case of a power outage.
A flood alert has been issued for the River Bourne from Hadlow to East Peckham,.
Low lying land and roads expected to be most affected are at Little Mill and Hadlow, however properties are not expected to be impacted.
