The polling is over, the speeches dusted off and America has a new President in waiting.

And you have played your part in the vote (sort of)!

We asked you yesterday to cast your vote as if you were in a US polling booth.

And the results are in!

In our very undemocratic Kentonline poll you put Obama way out front - taking 89.1 per cent of your vote.

John McCain came a poor second, with just 9.4 per cent of the total.

But 1.6 per cent of you who voted couldn't care less who won!

Our tongue-in-cheek poll came as look-a-like versions of Barack Obama and John McCain toured the streets of Tunbridge Wells fighting for your votes in a mock election.

Shoppers and residents turned up at the American and Worldwide Travel offices in the town and voted for whoever they thought would make the best next American president.
