You vote: keep Bev and Geoff!

A Kent Online poll has shown that 85 per cent of readers are against the sacking of BBC South East Today presenters Geoff and Bev.

The poll asked: "Was it right for the BBC to replace news presenters Geoff Clark and Beverly Thompson?", and the majority of people voted against the move. It’s expected that Rob Smith and Polly Evans will replace the popular duo in October.

The sacking has provoked a huge response from viewers, with some calling the BBC’s decision as ageist.

Although 62-year-old Geoff Clark’s contract will not be renewed in October, Bev Thompson is expected to carry on in another capacity with BBC South East. The pair have been anchors for the news programme for five years.
