A MOTORIST died when his car spun off the road into a ditch in the early hours of this morning.

The man, thought to be in his mid-20s, was found dead at the scene by emergency crews close to Mockbeggar Farm on the B2000 at Cliffe, near Strood.

Firefighters from Strood used airbags and hydraulic spreaders and cutters to free the man from the wreckage.

The road was closed for several hours as the police crash investigation unit examined the scene. It is believed no other vehicles were involved.
