KENT Police are appealing for witnesses after a a young man died in hospital hours after being involved in a two-car crash.

The victim, in his 20s, came from the Gravesend area. The accident happened in Thames Way at Northfleet at about 4.15pm on Monday.

Both cars involved, a burgundy Ford Focus and a black Nissan Pulsar, were wrecked in the smash.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered two men in each car. All four were taken to the Darent Valley Hospital at Dartford where one of them died hours later. Another man is understood to have suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
