A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with rape.

Mohammed Khan, of Ordnance Street, Chatham, was arrested by police at his home at around 7am on Monday.

The charge relates to an alleged incident in Jacksons Field, Rochester, on Sunday, April 1.

Khan was remanded in custody at Medway Magistrates' Court.
