AN 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted rape and grievous bodily harm.

Ryan Chinnery, a groundsman, of Christopher Bushell Way, Kennington, near Ashford, appeared at Ashford magistrates court on Friday.

Magistrates sent the matter to be dealt with at crown court. He was remanded in custody.

The alleged offences took place in Brookfield Road, Ashford, in the early hours of Monday, August 27.

Mr Chinnery will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 14.
