Young man in ecstasy tragedy

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has died after taking ecstasy, Kent Police have revealed.

The man, who has not been named, was at a house in Margate on New Year’s Day when he collapsed. He was taken to the Queen Mother Hospital in the town but died later.

Details have only just been released by police. The cause of death has not been determined but police say the man took at least one ecstasy tablet. Further tests are being carried out.

Detectives are appealing for help to find out where the ecstasy tablets the man used came from.

They are described as white, with the word Heineken or a symbol similar to the Heineken H symbol on one side and a bottle on the other side.

A police spokesman said: ”Although the drugs feature the Heineken logo, they are not associated with the brewery company Heineken.”

Anyone with information about the drugs the man used is asked to contact Det Sergeant Ren Johnson at Margate Police Station on 01843 222192.
