A MAN accused of killing a father-of-three during an incident in a Kent town appeared in court on Monday.

Jimmy Williams, 20, is charged with the manslaughter of 35-year-old Daniel Beames, who suffered head injuries in Park Wood, Maidstone, on August 3.

Mr Beames, director of a scaffolding firm, of Bell Shaw in the town, died in Maidstone Hospital two days later.

Williams made the brief court appearance via a TV link with Elmley Prison, Sheppey.

He was remanded in custody until October 17, when a plea will be entered.
