Youngsters didn’t mind getting their hands dirty to help improve their neighbourhood.
They joined neighbourhood police officers and a council youth worker in the Canal Road area of Strood.
DIY store B&Q donated gardening equipment and flowers to allow the clean-up crew to plant two flowerbeds.
The day was coordinated by police community support officer Rachel Ames.
She said: “I’m delighted young people are keen to give up their free time to improve their neighbourhood.
“By getting involved in projects such as this one, these youngsters will be encouraged to take pride in their local area whilst also helping to build a stronger, safer community.”
