You've been voting in your hundreds in our online poll...and surprisingly 59.7 per cent of you think it's ok for children to smoke cannabis at home.

KentOnline readers have also been leaving their comments.

Mary James from Reading writes: "I'm glad Miss Dixon relates so well to her daughter. At least she can keep an eye on her consumption and give realistic advice.

"It will tend to steer her away from alcohol with its attendant anti-social behaviour and extreme violence."

Lee, from Romney Marsh, said: "Cannabis is only a 'bad’ drug in the wrong hands and the cost to the NHS and society from the damage of alcohol and tobacco abuse is huge.

"Yet both remain legally available drugs. It is about time people started to see the bigger picture here."

But there certainly wasn't universal support for Miss Dixon.

A contributor from Chatham, who gave their name only as 'Tax Payer', said: "I can't believe she can't see what's wrong with it.

"Will she think the same when she is accessing NHS services for treatment for cancer or psychosis in a few years' time at a cost to me (hard working tax payer)?"
