A BOY of 17 has been accused of attempted robbery after an 82-year-old man had a knife held to his face outside his nursing home.

Police say money was demanded from the pensioner during the incident in Cliftonville, near Margate, on Wednesday.

The boy and a girl, also aged 17, were arrested after being chased by staff from the care home.

The boy was due to appear before magistrates at Margate today. The girl has been bailed by police until September.
