GILLINGHAM have been handed a trip to third division side Cambridge United in the first round of the Carling Cup.

The tie will take place at the Abbey Stadium during the week beginning Monday, August 11.

Cambridge finished in 12th place in Division Three last season having been relegated from Division Two the season before.
