CHARLTON have made an overwhelming response to the national plea for reduced admission prices with a pioneering season-ticket offer that could see supporters watching Premiership football for free at The Valley in season 2008-09.

The Charlton board have decided that fans who buy their 2007-08 season tickets on or before April 30 will, if the club are relegated, receive a Premiership season ticket for the 2008-09 campaign free of charge should the club gain promotion at the first attempt.

The club are also slashing next season’s prices by up to £75. There will be a new flat-rate for all under-18s of just £125, which equates to less than £7 per game.

The price for under-11s remains at just £99. Prices apply whichever division the club play in next season.

Charlton plc chairman Richard Murray said: "If we are relegated our support will be more vital than ever and we will do everything to regain Premiership status.

"That’s the reason for us taking the unprecedented step of offering a free season ticket for season 2008-09 if we are promoted at the first attempt."

Depending on the club’s league position, the board will review prices at the end of April.
