Charlton appear to be on the verge of their second capture of the summer as Addicks boss Alan Pardew rebuilds his squad for a second shot at returning to the Premier League.
Pardew snapped up Crystal Palace central defender Mark Hudson on a free transfer last month and prolific Forest Green striker Stuart Fleetwood looks to be the next arrival at The Valley.
Addicks assistant manager Phil Parkinson watched Fleetwood in Rovers' FA Cup victory over Rotherham and a bid is expected imminently for the 22-year-old who is out of contract at the Blue Square Premier club.
Fleetwood said: "I have already spoken to Charlton, Swansea and Swindon but I won't be making any decisions until I get back from my holiday."
Fleetwood turned down a move to Crewe in January after scoring 30 goals in the first half of the season, and he finished the campaign on 34.
