CHARLTON have hit injury problems for the first time this season with Chris Powell and Darren Ambrose almost certain to miss tonight's home game against Plymouth Argyle.
Both sustained ankle injuries in Saturday's bruising 2-0 defeat at Wolverhampton. Manager Alan Pardew is awaiting the results of a scan on Powell's injury before deciding whether or not to make a loan signing.
The Charlton veteran is the third left-back the club have lost to injury with Ben Thatcher and Cory Gibbs already long-term casualties.
Charlton slipped to third with Saturday's second league defeat of the season and Pardew welcomed the early opportunity to make amends. He said: "We came away from Wolves on Saturday not scratching our heads but very disappointed to have lost.
"We need to take that disappointment into the match with Plymouth, make amends and start another unbeaten run. We need a steel mentality and I hope to see that against Plymouth."
