CHARLTON were among four clubs who attended a meeting at Harrods store in London to discuss taking legal action against the Barclays Premiership following the furore surrounding West Ham’s escape from a points deduction.
Though the Premier League announced they are satisfied with the registrations of Hammers’ player of the year Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano (now with Liverpool), Fulham, Sheffield United, Wigan and Charlton, have taken legal advice and sent a letter of protest to Premiership chief executive Richard Scudamore.
The four are known to be furious about Mr Scudamore’s curt response to a first letter expressing deep concern over Tevez’s registration.
Mr Scudamore’s personal visits to the four clubs failed to have the desired effect.
A Premiership spokesman re-iterated the stance when he declared: "We are satisfied with the registration of the West Ham midfielder Carlos Tevez."
