CHARLTON have offered club captain Luke Young a new three-year contract at The Valley.
The 26-year-old England international is not out of contract, the club wants to retain his services and fend off interest from other clubs.
Charlton plc chairman Richard Murray told the club's official website: "Luke is a key member of our squad and we have offered him a lucrative new deal.
"He is an England international and his performances over the past few seasons, including last term when he was the club captain, have been excellent."
Young suffered disappointment recently when he was not named in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad to travel to the World Cup in Germany.
He was originally on the stand-by list for the England squad, but subsequently ruled himself out through injury.
