CHARLTON are repeatedly being linked with Watford’s Icelandic international Heidar Helguson.
The 27-year-old striker would suit the club's new-look 4-2-3-1 formation, although Shaun Barlett has been filling the role of lone forward successfully and the club has Francis Jeffers in reserve.
Helguson, who is Watford's top scorer this season with 16 goals in all competitions, gave the Liverpool defence a torrid time during the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final at Anfield and has been touted as a player who has the ability to play in the Premiership.
With the January transfer window closing on Monday, Curbishley would not be drawn on likely targets, but hinted the club are prepared to wait until the summer.
He said: "At the moment I don't think there are many clubs willing to let players go but are happy to take someone in. So we'll see how the next 10 days shape up."
