CHARLTON chief executive Peter Varney has confirmed that the ‘particulars of claim’ – further details relating to the writ issued to Iain Dowie by his previous employers Crystal Palace – were served on Wednesday, June 14.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan organised a High Court writ to be served during the press conference on May 30 when Dowie was announced as the new Addicks head coach.
Varney explained last week: "For legal reasons we cannot make any further comment at this stage.
"But we have noted the further derogatory comments made by Simon Jordan at a Crystal Palace press conference this week both in relation to Iain Dowie and our football club."
He stressed: "The matter is being dealt with by the club lawyers and we will not be making any additional statements at this time."
