CHARLTON have fallen victim to Chelsea's colossal spending power for a second time this year.

Having reluctantly let Scott Parker go to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, the Addicks lost out again to owner Roman Abramovich's financial muscle after the deal to sign PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman was high-jacked.

Manager Alan Curbishley's attempt to reunite newly-signed Dennis Rommedahl with his PSV team-mate at The Valley ended when Chelsea snatched Kezman as he was poised to join Charlton.

Chelsea are thought to have paid above the £5m PSV wanted for the 25-year-old Serbian international who scored a staggering 95 goals for the club.
