CHARLTON manager Alan Pardew insists he made the right decision about coming to The Valley despite the club's relegation from the Premiership.

He said: "This is the first time as a manager that I've experienced relegation so I don't know how I'm going to feel over the next few days.

"When I came here I knew it would be a tough call but I knew the people here.

"I'm just sad for them and the supporters that we've not been able to pull it off."
