Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson's job prospects at Charlton suffered another setback as the club's slide towards League 1 continued with Saturday's defeat at Carrow Road.

It was the Addicks 14th game without a win and they never looked likely to break the depressing sequence once Leroy Lita had given Norwich a 60th minute lead.

Lita, who was on loan at Charlton last season, chested the ball down from Sammy Clingan's cross before scoring.

Until then, Charlton had been in the game after a bright first half in which skipper Mark Hudson drew a magnificent 24th minute save from Norwich goalkeeper David Marshall.

Jose Semedo also went close for the Addicks who were desperate to build on Monday's point at home to Derby.

But Parkinson conceded: "As soon as we fell behind the confidence took a knock and some heads went down.

"All we can do is stick together as a side and work hard in the hope of turning things around, which I'm confident we'll do."

But match-winner Lita took a swipe at the Addicks. "Charlton do not play good football and I can't believe how direct they've become as a side.

"They didn't play like that when I was there last season."
