Harry Arter has received a glowing tribute from Welling boss Andy Ford after he was recalled by Charlton.

The talented midfielder made six appearances for the Wings during a one-month loan spell from the Addicks - turning in a number of brilliant performances.

Arter could even figure for Charlton in the Championship as he tries to earn a new contract for next season.

Ford said: "Charlton have been very pleased with Harry's attitude and training.

"They've noticed a big difference and want to have a look at him before the end of the season.

"Before, I think he was probably going out of the door but maybe it will be different now."

Ford said that the deal has benefited both parties.

"We've given him some confidence," said Ford. "We've enjoyed having him in our side, and it was a two-way thing as Charlton are pleased with how he has done.

"He was initially going to stay for two months but the option is always there to recall him after 30 days."
