CHARLTON have confirmed £2.5million signing of Sheffield Wednesday's Algerian international central defender Madjid Bougherra on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Bougherra, 24, who goes straight into the squad for Wednesday's Premiership match at Bolton Wanderers, is manager Alan Pardew's third signing in the January transfer window, joining Ben Thatcher and China captain Zheng Zhi.
