YOUNG Kent footballer Charlton defender Chris Solly twice featured for 90 minutes as England U17s ended a four-team Nationwide Tournament with a win and a draw.
Solly, who lives in Strood and is a Charlton defender, played in a 1-1 draw against Turkey and then a 3-0 victory against Italy.
His performance against Turkey received particular praise from coach Noel Blake who said: "I thought Chris had a very good test against a strong left winger.
"He stuck to his task and showed good character, even though he had a real battle on his hands."
