CHARLTON'S new striker Chris Iwelumo believes a healthy team spirit is the key to any success.

Iwelumo scored 18 goals for Colchester last season as the club made light of the transition from League 1 to the Championship.

He thinks Alan Pardew's methods might give the Addicks an edge over their rivals.

He explained: "Colchester were the surprise package last year, no-one favoured us at all. It was the team spirit and unity in the dressing which drove us.

"In this dressing room, with the quality of players we've got, if we have that togetherness and are striving for the same goal we are going to be very hard to stop."
