CHARLTON manager Alan Curbishley is considering employing a sports psychologist in an effort to solve the mystery of the club's poor away form.

Saturday's defeat at Anfield was Charlton's fourth on the road this season in which they have taken one point from a possible 15.

"Charlton have never called on this kind of approach before," he said. "But we do have a totally different attitude away from home."

"Things have got to change and I'm talking about attitude."

Charlton, who completed a home and away win double over Gerard Houllier's Liverpool found the Liverpool of Raphael Benitez playing at a far quicker tempo.

They were lucky to go in at half time on level terms after Djibril Cisse struck the inside of a post in the 12th minute, but fell behind early in the second period.

Cisse, who had been switched to wide right up front, delivered a cross which Xabi Alonso headed goalwards. Kevin Lisbie cleared but only as far as Norwegian international John Arne Riise, whose well-struck shot gave Liverpool a 51st minute lead.

Luis Garcia, Liverpool's £6m man from Barcelona, capped an outstanding performance by increasing their lead with a searing 25-yarder in the 74th minute.
