All set for Thanet 10k

ABOUT 250 runners will take part in the Thanet 10k race this Saturday from the Oval at Cliftonville, starting at 2pm.

The route will take the runners along the promenade east of the town centre and streets near Foreness Point.

Dave Bennett, one of the race directors, says: “It has the potential to be a fast course. Although the runners climb Fort Hill near to the end of the race, the rest of the course is pretty flat.

“This is the first race being run on a Saturday afternoon and it looks as if it will be as popular as it was when it was run on a Sunday.”

Entries on the day are available from noon to 1.30pm and the cost will be £8.
