Gillingham will face the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United next season but nothing in League 1 worries boss Martin Allen.
He was rubbing his hands in anticipation of the new season, after the fixtures were released on Wednesday morning.
The Gills start their campaign at home to Colchester United on Saturday, August 3, before travelling to Wolves the following weekend.
Allen said: “It does give you a rush of adrenalin and it’s exciting.
“We’ve got 10 months of competition to look forward to and it’s fantastic, isn’t it? How amazing.
“Eighteen months ago, Wolves were in the Premier League and Gillingham were in League 2. That is going to be a tough game for them. It’s going to be exciting all the way through.
“We want to get going as soon as possible, bring it on, bring it all on. There won’t be any fear from us, that’s for sure.”
