We're not buying, says Gills boss Martin Allen on transfer deadline day

Gillingham boss Martin Allen is hoping his phone stays silent on transfer deadline day.

With little money available to make new signings, the Gills boss is more interested in keeping hold of his own players.

The transfer deadline for signing contracted players permanently is on Monday at 11pm.

Allen said: “I am sure some Premier League clubs might come in for our young players who are doing so well but overall I just concentrate on getting our squad ready.

“I will have my mobile on silent because I don’t want to lose any of our players but we aren’t buying anyone.”

Allen was able to boost his squad last week with the loan signings of Danny Hollands from Charlton.

Another player awaiting news of a potential offer is Gary Dicker, who spent last week on trial with the Gills. Dicker was playing Championship football last season at Brighton.
