Martin Allen believes last weekend’s performance against Brentford can fire them to victory at Swindon.
The Gills boss was thrilled at the way his team battled with a team tipped by many, including himself, to challenge for the League 1 title.
The Gills travel to Swindon on Saturday for what will be another stern test.
Allen said: “We were playing against one of the top teams in the division and we more than matched them.
“It should have given everyone that self-belief that if we play to the top of our game, then we can do well.
“It’s great to get that first point and I am sure for everyone there is an element of relief but I have been fine.
“I know we have good players, they are good lads and I know what they are capable of.
“We were all hurting after the Wolves game (a 4-0 defeat the weekend before) but we kept calm and didn’t panic.”
“I am well aware of the rivalry and on and off the field, I am sure we will do things the right way and do our best to win.
“They were in the play-offs last year and that goes to show what another tough game it will be but we will put on a good show.”
