Martin Allen believes Coventry City will pose his side their biggest challenge yet, on Sunday.
The Gills head into the game against Coventry without a win to their name.
But there will be no chance of respite this weekend against the division’s leading scorers.
Allen was at Northampton - Coventry’s temporary home ground - to see them beat Colchester United last Sunday.
“That was the best team I have seen in this division by a country mile,” said the Gills boss.
“They are strong, fast, very well organised, very well disciplined and Colchester didn’t have one effort at their goal, apart from a long throw.”
“We have got to expose their weaknesses and every one of our players has got to be on top form, there is no doubt about it.
Allen has also been focusing on his own team’s weaknesses, having seen his side concede an average of two goals a game.
He said: “I spent two days watching DVDs of our performances and there have been games where we could have done things better, there have been some individual errors and lapses of concentration that have been costly.
“I am not going to talk about the refereeing decisions. The only thing we can do and concentrate on is our own individual and collective performances and you have to work on these moments that have been happening in the game that have cost us dear.
“We keep working, keep practising and we keep going over them. We also we have to play our way and be more confident to go and play.”
