Almost a clean bill of health for Gills

HEAD INJURY: Efe Sodje
HEAD INJURY: Efe Sodje

Gillingham v Port Vale

GILLINGHAM manager Mark Stimson has just one injury concern ahead of Saturday's home clash with Port Vale.

Defender Efe Sodje saw a specialist on Wednesday and is the only doubt as he recovers from the head injury sustained in the Yeovil defeat last month.

Meanwhile, Stimson has praised the attitude of midfielder Andrew Crofts who looked back to his best on his return to the side at Crewe on Tuesday night.

Stimson said: "He missed a couple of games because he was with Wales, and the lad who took his place played well so he couldn't come straight back.

"Last year (when Crofts was the club's player of the year) has gone – it's all about now. There are a lot of players in this club who have played at a very high level – but a long time ago.

"He's set a standard and hopefully he can keep to that."
