Charlton beat relegation rivals Yeovil 3-2 at The Valley on Tuesday night.

Goals from Astrit Ajdarevic, Dorian Dervite and Marvin Sordell earned the points for the Addicks, who are two points off the drop zone with two games in hand on Millwall below them in the Sky Bet Championship.

Jose Riga's side went in front in the 10th minute after Ajdarevic picked up a loose ball, eased past a challenge and beat Chris Dunn from 20 yards.

Yeovil levelled two minutes later with Joel Grant's deflected strike giving Ben Hamer no chance and should have gone in front straight after but James Hayter missed from eight yards.

Back came Charlton with Ajdarevic twice denied before Dunn's terrific save from Diego Poyet.

Riga's men restored their lead on 48 minutes through Dervite's header from a Johnnie Jackson corner.

And they scored again three minutes later, Sordell on target after Dunn failed to hold Reza Ghooochannejhad's cross.

Kieffer Moore pounced on a defensive mix-up to pull a goal back on 74 minutes but Charlton held on.

Boss Riga said: "It's been a fixation that we can't score goals. Now we have scored three times and I asked my players that next time we have to do both - get a clean sheet and score three times."
