Charlton Athletic v Wycombe Wanderers
CHARLTON take a much needed break from the Premiership on tonight when they turn their attentions to the Carling Cup.
The Addicks face Wycombe at The Valley for a place in the semi-finals. And head coach Les Reed is hoping for a win to help spur his side on ahead of a tough Christmas period.
However, Charlton will have to cope without captain Luke Young, who looks set to be sidelined for six weeks with a knee injury. There are also doubts over Andy Reid (hamstring), Lloyd Sam (groin) and Radostin Kishishev (calf).
On-loan keeper Scott Carson is set to return in goal after missing the match against his permanent employers Liverpool at the weekend.
Reed said: "It’s a big fillip for the club that we can take our minds off the Premiership and look forward to a cup match.
"If we win it we’ll be in the semi-finals, which would be a great achievement for the club. But the confidence it will bring with it is also important."
