KENT boxer Johnny Armour is back in training as he builds up for his WBU Bantamweight title defence in the New Year. Armour was due to fight this weekend at the Wembley Conference Centre but had to pull out because of damaged ligaments in his foot.

However, the injury is healing well and the Chatham-based fighter is now hard at work in Liverpool ahead of his warm-up fight on December 1.

He said: "Training is going well. I'm still in a little bit of pain but it's pain I can handle. I've got about three weeks to go until the fight and I can't wait to get into the ring. "I'm hungrier then ever." Armour will defend his title, before January 31, probably against the man he beat for the title, Francis Ampofo.

Tickets for Armour's warm-up fight at the York Hall, Bethnal Green, can be purchased from Red Menswear on Military Road, Chatham. All tickets are £20.
