THE Kent Crusaders basketball squad head west to take on Tamar Valley Cannons, the side who beat them 93-82 in this season’s Patron’s Cup, in the English League on Saturday.
Kent are buzzing after their third straight league win, 98-64 away to Team Northumbria last weekend, but coach Jesse Sazant will be looking for more from his side.
He said: “We are playing with a lot of confidence right now but we need to keep focusing on the little details that have made the difference in our play.”
Player Gary Davison hinted that Crusaders might yet emerge as title contenders this season. He said: “We’re going into the game full of confidence, with players coming out of their shells. We’re becoming a team to beat.”
The trip is the second game in a series of three away games that the side have flagged up as crucial to the Crusaders’ league chances.
Kent have missed Steve Findley, Pete Ayling, Angelo Irving and Lee Butters through injury and will hope to have some of them available against Tamar.
