Battling ice men sink in final period

A SPIRITED performance saw the Gillingham-based ice hockey team Invicta Dynamos hold higher league opponents Romford Raiders for two thirds of the game on Sunday night.
Playing away in the Premier Cup, the Mos even led at one point thanks to goals from AJ Smith (8:41) and Peter Korff (9:16).
Romford tied the game 2-2 by the end of the first period and in a goalless second Mos netminder Carl Ambler was outstanding and was deservedly named man-of-the-match.
Two quick goals midway through the final period from Tyrone Miller on the powerplay (48:57) and Juuso Vakkilainen (50:09) won the game for the home side.
