Jerry Dolke says Bromley are at a crossroads

Bromley chairman Jerry Dolke has put the club up for sale and is stepping down with immediate effect.

Mr Dolke became the majority shareholder of the club in 2001 and has overseen dramatic improvements on and off the pitch.

He said: "The club has now reached a crossroads and in order for it to move on to the next level significant investment is needed.

"I don’t have the financial resources or the energy needed and therefore I have made the decision to put the club up for sale.

"I’m now looking forward to spending some quality time with my family who have given me so much support during my time as chairman.”

Under Mr Dolke's chairmanship Bromley won promotion to the Ryman League Premier Division at the end of the 2004/05 season and two years later went up to the Blue Square South.

New floodlights were put up and facilities built in the main stand at Hayes Lane but possibly the most important development came in November 2006 when Mr Dolke purchased the freehold for the ground from the Cannons Group.
