PLAYER-COACH Phil Chard has thrown down the gauntlet to his table-topping Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team to go through the season unbeaten.
The Gillingham-based Dynamos, who ousted former English National Hockey League South leaders Oxford City Stars following their 3-0 weekend success against Slough Hawks, entertain Chard's old side Peterborough Islanders on Sunday looking to preserve a 100 per cent record this campaign.
Chard said: “I see no reason why we can't finish the season unbeaten. I expect us to do very well in this division.
“Having said that we'll have to play a lot better than we did against Slough last week. We might have won 3-0 but I wasn't happy with the performance .
“To make the point I skated the legs off them in training this week and I'll expect a big improvement against Peterborough.”
Chard was among the Islanders' founder players when he joined the club six years ago. Face off at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday is 5.15pm.
