GILLINGHAM rode their luck to extract a precious point from a goaless draw at Crewe.

In doing so they became the first Gillingham side since 1972 to take something from the club's bogey ground at Gresty Road.

Marlon King went closest to breaking the deadlock for Gillingham with an 83rd minute drive that struck the underside of the Crewe bar.

The home side had earlier hit the woodwork on three occasions.
